Career Israel Jerusalem Track
Spend 5-months living and working in one of the oldest cities in the world and Israel’s capital, Jerusalem!
Join with other international college graduates ages 21-30 and immerse yourself in Jerusalem’s rich culture and atmosphere, beautiful landscapes and scenery, history, artisinal and culinary wonders while exploring the city’s hidden treasures with people from all over the world and from all three major religions coming together in a city unlike any other. Jerusalem is home to two of Israel’s leading universities, Bezalel Academy of Art and Design and the Hebrew University as well as the Knesset, Israel’s legislative branch of the government, tons of archeological sites, museums, art galleries and more! Spend your time working as a journalist for the Jerusalem Post, aid with the excavations in the City of David, boost your political charisma in the Knesset or help immigrants integrate into Israeli society. Market the productions of a theater company to international theater festivals, become a teacher’s assistant in a class for special needs children or delve into the world of communications and PR. Whether you wish to explore yourself spiritually or just want to satisfy a curiosity, every step around Jerusalem makes you feel like ancient stories are coming alive.
The first few days of the program are spent in Jerusalem along with the participants of the Tel Aviv track, acclimating to Israel and getting to know one another with group touring, bonding activities and exciting seminars and programs. You will then move to your Jerusalem housing provided by Career Israel for the remainder of orientation, enjoying group activities and trips.
The remaining time on the program is focused on your internship. You will intern 25-30 hours each week at your internship and you will get to travel and see parts of Israel you have never experienced with trips that include overnight trips and periodic day trips that will expose you to subjects such as modern Israeli society, religion and the Jewish state, the Arab-Israeli conflict, Jewish identity in modern Israel, trends in the Israeli job market and more. You can find a sample itinerary here.
